Callaway Christian Church
Update on COVID-19
Sunday we announced that we had identified two triggers for us as a congregation in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
1. In the event the Fulton Public Schools cancel due to the virus, we would be suspending building use by all outside organizations and non-essential activities.
2. In the event of a travel ban or the confirmed case of COVID-19 in Callaway or any adjoining county, we would suspend Sunday worship and Wednesday services until the situation can be deemed safe by those most qualified to make such determinations.
Sadly, in two days both of those circumstances have become our reality. With the guidelines set by the President of the United States and the Governor of Missouri, both declaring a state of emergency, the leadership at Callaway agreed that it would be most prudent to suspend use of and gatherings at our facility.
This answer is not because we are panicked, but because we want to keep this virus from harming our most vulnerable members, as well as keep those who serve as health care workers or first responders safe and ready to respond if necessary.
We want to invite you and your friends and family to join us this Sunday at 10:30 am, with a live online service via the Callaway Christian Church YouTube page (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7zJ3sKUJ3p4N5aD_4Lhp1A). If you are unable to make it for the live service, the video will be posted there shortly after completion. We would also like to emphasize that online giving is available through Tithe.ly(https://tithe.ly/give_new/www/#/tithely/give-one-time/1222260). You can of course give the old fashion way, sending via mail or dropping tithes and offerings at the building.
Because we are moving to online services, you are welcome to stop by the building between 10-1, Monday through Friday, and pick up individual cups. If you can’t make it to the building, please let us know and we will deliver them to you.
During this time, we must communicate the needs we have as a family. If you or a loved one test positive for COVID-19, please let us know. We want to lift each other up in prayer.
In addition, if you are someone who should limit the risk of exposure but has a need -- food, help with errands, etc. – PLEASE LET US KNOW!! We have volunteers who will gladly take care of you. We know these can be troubling times for some and we want to help to the greatest extent that we can.
A food pantry is available for those who have meal needs. Assistance is available if you have financial needs. But we cannot be the hands and feet of Christ unless we know the needs of the body.
Your servants in Christ,
